Lauda Honors Elmar Mohr for 40 Years of Service

Lauda Dr. R. Wobser GmbH & Co. KG, based in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany, celebrated the 40th work anniversary of Elmar Mohr in a formal ceremony attended by the management team, executive board, and distinguished guests. The long-serving chairman of the works council was honored for his exceptional dedication and loyalty to the family-owned company. The event highlighted Mohr’s decades-long contribution to one of the world’s leading providers of precise temperature control systems, underlining both his professional achievements and his role in shaping the company’s internal collaboration culture.

A 40-year career at Lauda: from toolmaker to works council chairman

Elmar Mohr began his career at Lauda on January 27, 1986, in the refrigeration department. After just one year, the trained toolmaker moved into the toolmaking and prototype construction division within development, where he contributed his technical expertise for more than two decades.

Since March 2010, Mohr has served as chairman of the works council, playing a key role in fostering constructive dialogue between employees and management. In addition to his core responsibilities, he was also a member of the editorial team of the employee magazine “WIR bei Lauda” from 1995 until December 2017, further supporting internal communication and corporate culture.

Recognition from leadership and regional representatives

Dr. Gunther Wobser, president & CEO of Lauda, emphasized Mohr’s unique combination of technical expertise and strategic thinking in his official address. He highlighted Mohr’s creativity, versatility, and solution-oriented mindset, noting his ability to remain calm and objective in negotiations while demonstrating clarity and determination. Wobser also expressed his intention to maintain dialogue with Mohr even after his retirement.

In recognition of his long-standing service, Elmar Mohr was awarded the Lauda certificate of honor, reflecting his lasting impact on the company.

Dr. Lukas Braun, mayor of Lauda-Königshofen, conveyed official congratulations on behalf of the city and the minister-president of Baden-Württemberg. He described Mohr as a strong example of lived social partnership, emphasizing that his work has significantly contributed to a positive working environment at Lauda. This, in turn, strengthens both the company and the regional business location in Baden-Württemberg.

Leadership in the works council and contribution to company culture

As chairman of the works council, Elmar Mohr guided Lauda through challenging periods and played a decisive role in maintaining constructive cooperation between workforce and management. His approach reflects a strong sense of responsibility and long-term perspective, qualities that have defined his leadership over more than 16 years in this position.

In his acceptance speech, Mohr emphasized that his roots in toolmaking have always influenced his work, stating that he has applied the same precision and craftsmanship to his role in employee representation.

Uwe Stastny, deputy chairman of the works council, praised Mohr’s foresight, reliability, and continuous professional development. He underlined that Mohr set high standards through his commitment and leadership, leaving a lasting impact on the workforce and organizational culture.

Transition to retirement and personal outlook

Elmar Mohr will begin his phased retirement on April 1, 2026. After four decades of professional dedication, he will have more time to focus on personal interests, including table tennis and cycling.
