New Leadership Team Expands Technology Portfolio

With an expanded technology portfolio, Lukas and Magnus Buske and their teams are positioning Plasmatreat to meet future demands in industrial surface treatment. Aurora-Plasma supplements the existing Openair-Plasma and PlasmaPlus portfolios with a low-pressure plasma solution for challenging applications in, for example, the medical technology and electronics industries. 

With Lukas and Magnus Buske assuming full operational responsibility and the expansion of the technology portfolio to include the new low-pressure plasma solution, Aurora-Plasma, the family-owned company has set a clear course for its future development. Since mid-2025, Lukas and Magnus Buske have served as managing directors, each overseeing their respective business divisions. They have both held operational management positions at Plasmatreat for many years and played a key role in shaping the company’s technological and international growth. Over the past few months, company founder Christian Buske has gradually handed over operational responsibility to his sons. This transition symbolizes both continuity and new momentum.

Strategic expansion of the portfolio

One visible result of this development is the introduction of Aurora-Plasma, Plasmatreat’s new low-pressure plasma technology. Since early 2026, it has complemented the existing Openair-Plasma and PlasmaPlus portfolios, expanding the possibilities of industrial surface treatment. Consequently, Plasmatreat now offers a broad range of plasma technologies to meet a wide variety of research, development and series production requirements. These solutions can be tailored specifically to respective industries and applications.

With Aurora-Plasma, the company is responding to the growing demands of many industries. The technology operates in a defined vacuum process chamber and is ideal for complex geometries, porous materials, and applications requiring the highest levels of uniformity and full-surface treatment. The multi-frequency approach and flexible use of different process gases allow for precise tailoring of plasma properties to the material, component and application.

New opportunities in guture-oriented industries

Plasmatreat sees potential in technology-intensive markets because there is no single “best” plasma technology that works for all of them. The key factors are the specific process requirements and the desired surface function. Different processes are used depending on the geometry of the components, their material properties, production speed, and quality requirements.

For users, the expanded product portfolio means greater flexibility above all else. They now have access to a range of technologies, from atmospheric-pressure plasma to functional nanocoatings and low-pressure plasma.
