SKZ and IPSI: Train the Trainer Programme in Indonesia

The SKZ Plastics Center will support PT Impack Pratama Industri Tbk (IMPC) in Indonesia in establishing the Impack Polymer Science Institute (IPSI). This is a training center that aims to offer career opportunities in the plastics industry, primarily to school pupils, students, and career changers. IPSI aims to become a prestigious learning center for polymers/plastics in the ASEAN region, targeting industry players, students and professionals interested in the polymer industry. The goal is clear and urgent: to close the skills gap in Indonesia, reduce unemployment, improve the quality of the workforce, and accelerate innovation.

The focus is on the partnership with SKZ, one of the most influential plastics institutes in Germany and the world. With over 60 years of experience in shaping global standards and imparting specialist knowledge, SKZ is now expanding its sphere of influence to Indonesia through IPSI. As part of an intensive train the trainer programme, IPSI's senior trainers are mentored directly by SKZ experts with strong academic backgrounds and industrial experience. This gives IPSI an immediate competitive advantage.

“In a time of rapid industrial change, technological innovation and global economic uncertainty, building a stronger talent pool is no longer optional, but essential,” said Haryanto Tjiptodihardjo, President of IMPC. "By investing in IPSI, we are opening up access to first-class training opportunities and empowering people to find better jobs, earn higher incomes and build a more secure future with increasing skills. For us, this is exactly what doing well by doing good means: creating long-term value for the company by doing good, for example, improving the incomes of people and communities.

Matthias Ruff, Sales Manager Education and Research and Authorized Signatory at SKZ, adds: “For us at SKZ, it is a great honor and recognition to be part of this commitment. The IPSI concept is well thought out, tailored to people's needs, and is sure to be a success. With our international Train the Trainer programme, we are making an important contribution.”

The SKZ is climate protection company and a member of the Zuse Association, an association of independent, industry-related research institutions that pursue the goal of improving the performance and competitiveness of industry, especially SMEs, through innovation and networking.
