ABB E-Mobility and Elexon Deliver Charging Infrastructure from a Single Source

ABB E-mobility and elexon are announcing their strategic collaboration for the German and Austrian markets at the IAA Transportation. The partnership aims to give logistics companies and commercial fleet operators comprehensive support in successfully electrifying their vehicle fleets. An expansion of the collaboration to further European markets is envisaged going forward.

The electrification of heavy commercial vehicles confronts companies with complex technical, economic and operational challenges. ABB E-mobility is a manufacturer of high-performance DC charging infrastructure and provides fast charging solutions for the demands of commercial vehicle fleets. elexon complements this technological expertise with many years of experience in the planning, implementation and operation of charging infrastructure projects. With more than 38,000 charging points installed across over 1,200 logistics sites, elexon holds one of the most extensive track records in charging infrastructure for commercial and logistics customers.

Fleet operators thus receive the electrification of their fleet from a single source, from analysis and strategic consulting through technical planning and implementation to operation, service and long-term support of the charging infrastructure. As a certified ABB E-mobility channel partner, elexon is qualified to install, commission and service the charging solutions. Fleet operators thereby receive technology and deployment to a consistent quality standard.

“The depot decides whether an electrified fleet makes economic sense. Operators have to coordinate hardware, construction, grid connection and operation themselves, and that is exactly where projects fail," said Bruno Bourguet, President EMEA at ABB E-mobility. "With our charging technology and elexon's on-the-ground experience, they instead get one point of contact for a dependable depot.”

“Fleet operators need more than charging hardware – they need a reliable, integrated solution that works seamlessly from grid connection to daily operation. By partnering with ABB E-mobility, we combine world-class charging technology with our expertise in planning, energy management, implementation and long-term service. Together, we make the transition to electric fleets simpler, faster and more reliable for our customers," said Marcus Scholz, CEO, elexon.
