Evosys establishes subsidiary Attosys Laser

Evosys Laser is expanding its technology portfolio with the establishment of Attosys Laser in July 2026. The new subsidiary, based in Erlangen, focuses on laser-based manufacturing processes for applications in micro- and macro-machining.

Attosys’ range of services includes laser welding, laser structuring, laser cutting and laser drilling. A particular focus is on the hermetic joining of glass components and the joining of different materials. This includes glass welding, glass-to-metal welding and glass-to-silicon welding, particularly for applications in medical technology, microsystems technology and the semiconductor industry.

In addition, Attosys offers processes for plastics as well as for cutting and structuring glass, metal and ceramics. These processes enable precise cuts with no or minimal heat input as well as microstructuring. Depending on the design of the thermal process, for example, rounded or sharp-edged holes can be produced in glass tubes.

Among other technologies, ultra-short-pulse lasers are used. The combination of different laser technologies enables processes to be adapted to different materials, component geometries and requirements. “With Attosys Laser GmbH, we are creating an independent platform for laser-based processing methods that opens up new possibilities for challenging material combinations,” explains Frank Brunnecker, Managing Director of Evosys Laser. According to the company, the processes enable hermetic joints, high seam strength and low thermal stress on the components. Different materials can also be joined without additional adhesives.

“As a subsidiary of the Evosys Group, we can draw on more than 20 years’ experience in specialised machine construction, laser technology and materials processing. This expertise enables us to focus specifically on laser glass welding for demanding applications. At the same time, our customers benefit from a comprehensive range of services – from process development and integration right through to automated production machinery. In this way, we combine specialist expertise with holistic and customer-focused manufacturing solutions,” explains Wolfgang Burgmayr, Managing Director of Attosys Laser.
