ITSC 2026 Bangkok: Call for Papers

The world’s leading specialist event in the field of thermal spray technology is returning to Asia. From March 18 through 20, 2026, the ITSC – International Thermal Spray Conference & Exhibition – will take place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand. Under the motto Engineered for Excellence ‒ Smart Coatings for a Smart World, the international expert community will discuss current developments, new applications and smart solutions in the industry.

Thermal spraying has long been established as a key technology in numerous industrial applications. However, research and development in this field are continuously advancing – whether in processes, materials, equipment or digitalization. ITSC 2026 offers an excellent platform for global exchange on these developments and brings together experts from industry, science and research.

The event is organized by DVS Media GmbH and ASM International. The responsible associations for the technical programme are the ASM Thermal Spray Society (TSS) and DVS – German Welding Society (Deutscher Verband für Schweißen und verwandte Verfahren e. V.).

Technological diversity and current industry trends

In addition to classic thermal spraying, laser- and plasma-based coating technologies as well as applications in the field of overlay welding are gaining increasing importance. Additive manufacturing technologies (AM) are also playing an increasingly significant role, with a special focus on applications and solutions through thermal spray technology. Furthermore, ITSC 2026 offers comprehensive insights into all relevant thermal coating technologies, especially in the context of the energy and mobility transition.

Experts from around the world are invited to submit current application-oriented or scientific contributions on innovative developments, new coating solutions, applications or research results from the field of thermal coating technology by July 28, 2025.

Supporting programme featuring special highlights

The accompanying trade exhibition is a core part of the ITSC. International and regionally active companies and institutes provide direct dialogue on their technologies, products and services. Many presentation spaces have already been reserved – interested exhibitors are encouraged to register without delay.

Other highlights in the conference programme include:
  • Young Professionals session on the first day: young talents present their work in short presentations and compete for the Young Professional Award.
  • Industrial Forum with practice-oriented presentations and demonstrations of specific industrial applications.
  • Thermal Spray in a Nutshell – a technology-based introductory session for newcomers to the industry.
Networking in an inspiring environment

ITSC 2026 offers numerous opportunities for personal exchange. Traditional programme features such as the Welcome Reception at the exhibition on the first evening and the special Social Event on the second day promote international networking and dialogue within the professional community.

Organizational notes

Expo Only tickets allow access to the trade exhibition as well as selected event formats – even without attending the entire conference.

Accepted speakers benefit from reduced participation fees.

Registration is mandatory via the DVS Group online system.
