ITSC 2027: Call for Papers

The world’s leading specialist event for thermal spray technology is returning to Europe. From May 12 through 14, 2027, the ITSC – International Thermal Spray Conference and Exposition will take place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, under the motto Next-Level Thermal Spray: Driving Innovation, Enabling Sustainability. The venue is the WTC Rotterdam – World Trade Center.

Call for Papers now open

Experts from around the world are invited to submit application-oriented or scientific papers on innovative developments, new coating solutions or research findings in the field of thermal spray technology by October 19, 2026.

Forum for industry, research and emerging talent

In 2027, the programme will feature three special event formats, focusing on application-oriented presentations, fundamental knowledge and the promotion of young scientists:

  • Industrial Forum: This format offers practical presentations and application-oriented insights from the industry.
  • Thermal Spray in a Nutshell: A concise introduction to the fundamentals and applications – ideal for anyone new to the field of thermal spraying and laser beam cladding.
  • Young Professionals Session: Upcoming talents present their findings in short talks. The audience votes live to select the winner of the Young Professional Award.
Reinforcements for the organising team

For many years, DVS – German Welding Society and the ASM Thermal Spray Society (TSS) have been the hosts and technical organisers of the ITSC. The event is organised by DVS Media, which will be supported in 2027 by Messe Essen in marketing the accompanying exhibition.
