Association of laser users sheet metal processing visited ABICOR GROUP headquarters

Sponsored: Last week, an expert exchange on the future of laser technology took place at the Abicor Group headquarters, where Abicor Binzel and Thermacut Germany are located. Guest was the VdLB – in German: ”Verband deutscher Laseranwender -Blechbearbeitung- e.V.” – the association of German laser users sheet metal processing.

As a long-standing member of the VdLB, Thermacut Germany invited all interested parties to learn more about its portfolio of cutting technology products. Since the members, who traveled from all over Germany, come from the fields of laser-based sheet metal processing to the manufacture of laser cutting systems, products from Abicor Binzel were also of great interest.

The more than 50 visitors not only gained insight into the flow of goods from material delivery through production to the delivery of the finished products, but they were also able to experience many things in action at the company's own Innovation and Technology Center (ITC). These included:

  • The Abidrive Laser wire feeder with millimeter precision and four-roll drive for manual and cobot laser applications
  • The tactile laser optics MPH Tactile for applications requiring high flexibility and speed in laser welding with filler material
  • The intuitively operated iBOTone collaborative welding robot, which enables the welding of individual components up to medium batch sizes with consistent quality, thus relieving the welding specialist Thermacut showcased the Ex-Tack CNC mobile CNC cutting system, and anyone who wanted to, could try manual cutting themselves using the FHT-EX 125TTH plasma cutting torch connected to the powerful Ex-Trafire 125HD plasma cutting system.
