On the third day of the trade fair, Women in Welding Technology was the focus of a panel discussion at the DVS booth in Hall 3, Stand 3A23. Susanne Szczesny-Oßing (President of DVS – German Welding Association and CEO Chief Executive Officer EWM Holding), Ines Hensel (Vice President of DVS), Natascha Gaier (Branch Manager, SLV Hannover) and trainee Anna Reich shared their personal paths to welding technology in a discussion moderated by Anna Sänger.
Each entry path proved unique – whether shaped by family ties, a fascination with technology or more unconventional career beginnings. What unites them all is a passion for welding technology and the understanding that women are not only welcome in this profession but play an important role in its future. Diversity and multiple viewpoints contribute to the industry’s sustainable growth.
Through individual accounts, the talk highlighted both the diverse ways careers develop and the active role women play in advancing welding technology. This platform, along with DVS Media’s specialist journals (SCHWEISSEN und SCHNEIDEN, DER PRAKTIKER, WELDING AND CUTTING), will continue to cover these perspectives in the future.
