Save the date: 79th Annual Assembly and International Conference on Welding and Joining

The 79th IIW Annual Assembly 2026 will take place in Salzburg, Austria, bringing together the international welding and joining community in the heart of Europe.

The years Assembly will focus on current developments in welding and allied processes, with particular attention to science, technology, education, training, qualification, certification and industrial application. The programme is designed to support exchange between research, education and industry and to strengthen collaboration across the international IIW network.

For the first time, the IIW Annual Assembly will follow a renewed structure. This format places greater emphasis on application-oriented topics and aims to enhance the connection between industrial practice and scientific research. Technical visits and industrial roundtables will complement the established technical and scientific sessions.

The 2026 Assembly is organised with the support of the Austrian IIW Member Societies SZA and ÖGS, together with the Local Organising Committee. Their work provides the basis for an event that connects international expertise with the Austrian welding and joining community.
