DVS President Susanne Szczesny-Oßing Awarded Economic Medal

Szczesny-Oßing worked for 42 years at the family-owned company EWM, which was founded by her grandfather in 1957. She joined the management board in 2005 and led the EWM Group as Chair of the Executive Management Board from 2020 until October 2025. Since November 2025, she has contributed her expertise as an external Senior Advisor.

In addition, she takes on voluntary responsibility in key economic bodies and associations—among others as President of DVS and of the Koblenz Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). She is also committed to promoting STEM professions and was appointed a “Role Model Entrepreneur” by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs.

She combines entrepreneurial strength with social responsibility and brings this attitude to her role as President of DVS. Within the association, she is valued not only for her comprehensive knowledge of the entire industry, but also for her authenticity, her high level of personal commitment, and her consistently respectful approach, even when engaging with differing opinions. She and her work have a decisive influence on DVS. In doing so, she sets a strong example for the future of our association and for the entire industry.”
