Evosys, a provider of innovative laser welding solutions, draws a positive conclusion from this year's K trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. Visitors took the opportunity to find out about the latest developments and technologies in the field of laser plastic welding at the Evosys booth. A particular highlight was the introction of the EvoWeld Mini, made from a wooden housing, which symbolized the sustainability aspect of laser plastic welding.
Another displayeds product was the EvoWeld Generation 2. Continuous development and the optimized design of the system enable higher welding quality with shorter delivery times. The retrofit kit for the Evo2Step process was also demonstrated on this standard machine during live welding demonstrations. It consists of a set of simple add-on components and a sequence control system specifically developed for existing machines, enabling seamless integration of the Evo2Step process variant into any machine equipped with a pneumatic clamping system.
For larger components, the new Evo2Step machines are also available, with up to 2.8 kW laser power, larger working areas of up to 2 × 2 m², servo-electric clamping systems etc.
One of these features is the capability to measure the absorption characteristics of plastics at 980 nm for the first time. Since the heat absorption behavior of both joining partners is critical for precise process control and achieving high-quality results in the two-stage Evo2Step process, the absorption testing function provides an easy and accurate means of evaluating and comparing this behavior across different individual components.
In addition, Evosys presented the continous improvement of the EVO 0800-TD. The compact control technology is now housed in space-saving 19" racks, which facilitates integration into existing production lines and significantly reduces space requirements, as an additional control cabinet is no longer necessary. The stand-alone kit with operator interface enables manual operation, ideal for process development and sample part production. The process module can be easily integrated into a fully automated line.
“K 2025 was a complete success for us,” summarizes Managing Director Holger Aldebert. “The high number of visitors and the great interest in our innovations show that our solutions are striking a chord with the industry. We are particularly pleased that sustainability and efficiency are becoming increasingly important to our customers – this is exactly where our products come in.”
