System Expertise is Gaining Significance in Specialist Welding Trade

As modern welding and cutting processes become more complex, the requirements for consulting, process understanding and technical support are also increasing. Kjellberg Finsterwalde is responding with welding expertise and clear points of contact for key product and application areas. In welding technology, the demands placed on consulting, process understanding and technical
support are increasing.

Users need more than suitable products. They need points of contact who can assess applications, understand technical interrelationships and provide practical support for solutions. In the specialist welding trade in particular, this combination of product knowledge, application technology and personal support is becoming increasingly important. By bundling the submerged arc high performance welding business area within the Kjellberg Group, development, production and system expertise are more closely linked. This strategic direction is supported by Torsten Scheer, who has strengthened the management team at Kjellberg Finsterwalde in the areas of sales and marketing since September 2025. The aim is to simplify technical coordination, make processes more efficient and further strengthen performance in the field of submerged arc high performance welding.

In parallel, support for dealers in the DACH region has been restructured. As Sales Manager DACH, Andreas Roßnagel is taking over central support for welding electrodes, repair and hardfacing electrodes, cutting electrodes, products for plasma gouging, submerged arc welding products and related components as well as manual plasma applications and mobile plasma cutting systems of the Cutfire series. For specialist dealers, this creates a central point of contact for technical advice, quotations, sales support and application-related coordination. Whether submerged arc welding, manual metal arc welding, plasma gouging or mobile plasma applications – the decisive factor is often the interaction between welding consumable, power source, process, component and operating environment.

Automated cutting technology will remain within the existing sales structures. This includes automated plasma systems, CNC plasma cutting systems, robot applications as well as automated cutting and marking solutions, including systems of the iQ-Series, Q-Series, Smart Focus and HiFocus series. In this way, Kjellberg Finsterwalde is creating a clearer distinction between the product areas covered while ensuring continuity for complex automated applications.

In the field of submerged arc high performance welding, Sascha Rudnik, Head of SAW and Retrofit, remains the reliable point of contact for technical matters. Together with Andreas Roßnagel, support in the market is to be expanded in a practical and application-oriented way. The focus is not on individual products, but on complete applications: from welding consumables and submerged arc welding through to manual plasma applications and mobile cutting solutions. “Especially in technically demanding applications, direct exchange is becoming increasingly important. Today, users expect not just individual products, but solutions that are tailored to their processes,” explains Sascha Rudnik, Head of SAW and Retrofit at Kjellberg Finsterwalde. This development shows that technical advice today goes beyond selecting individual products.

System understanding, process knowledge and close cooperation between manufacturers, specialist dealers and users are becoming increasingly important. This connection, in particular, continues to gain significance for modern welding and cutting applications.
