Welding Alloys Celebrates 60 Year Anniversary

Welding Alloys, a global player in advanced welding consumables, automated welding equipment and engineered wear solutions, celebrates its 60th year in business. Since its founding in 1966 by Jan Stekly, in a small agricultural bungalow in Fowlmere, England, the company has grown into an international organisation with a presence in multiple continents, serving heavy industries around the world.

From producing its first hardfacing cored wire in 1968 to designing cutting-edge welding equipment in the 1970s, Welding Alloys has continuously advanced its technology and expanded its global footprint. Over six decades, the company has introduced innovative products and services that help customers extend component life, reduce downtime and decrease total cost of ownership across sectors including mining, cement, steel, energy, pulp & paper and more.

“We are honoured to mark this significant milestone in Welding Alloys’ history,” said Dominic Stekly, Group CEO. From my father’s humble beginnings in Fowlmere to the thriving global company we are today, our success has been driven by a culture of innovation, customer focus and unwavering commitment to quality. As we celebrate 60 years, we reflect on the partnerships, technologies and talented people who have helped shape our journey – and we look forward with confidence to the next chapter of growth, sustainability and service excellence.
