Call for Papers: International Conference on Advanced Joining Processes 2027

The 5th International Conference on Advanced Joining Processes 2027 (AJP2027)  will take place in Madeira, Portugal, on October 20 and 21, 2027, at the 5-star hotel Pestana Casino Park. This conference is held every two years and is chaired by Lucas F. M. da Silva and co-chaired by Paulo Martins (University of Lisbon, Portugal) and Uwe Reisgen (RWTH Aachen University).

The German Scientific Society of Joining (WGF, Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft Fügetechnik) supports this conference. The focus is on all advanced methods of joining such as friction stir welding, joining by plastic deformation, laser beam welding, advanced mechanical joining, adhesive bonding, hybrid joining, etc. There will be four plenaries, covering recent trends on microstructural performance in joining technologies, joining by forming, beam welding of hairpin joints and friction self-piercing riveting.

Authors wishing to make a presentation (oral or poster) are requested to submit a short abstract in English by June 4, 2027, and send electronically to lucas@fe.up.pt. The e-mail should indicate whether the author prefers an oral or poster presentation and if they want to be included in the 7th In-situ workshop 2027.
