Circular Valley Convention 2025: Preliminary Programme

On March 12 and 13, 2025, the Circular Valley Convention 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany, will bring together players from business, science, politics and society to jointly develop solutions for the future of the circular economy. With an innovative mix of conference, expo and networking event, the convention offers a cross-industry content hub and a marketplace for circular economy solutions.

The event format covers all phases of the circular economy: from product design, manufacturing, logistics and use to sorting and recycling technologies. Under the motto “Uniting Industries for a Circular Tomorrow”, the focus is on circular solutions for various industries and material classes such as plastics, packaging, printing, construction, glass or metal. In addition to solutions that are already marketable, an outlook for the future of the circular economy will also be presented.

The convention will tackle key topics that underline the most important challenges and opportunities and will also reflect upon the latest developments in various industry sectors:

A dinner event including a high-level panel discussion on the “Circular Night“ is scheduled to take place on the evening of the first day of the event (March 12, 2025), in addition to the keynote speeches and impulse lectures.

Speakers

The Circular Valley Convention 2025 is supported by renowned speakers who will enrich the event with their expertise and experience. Renowned personalities from various fields of the circular economy have already confirmed their participation:

  • Dr. Holger Hanselka, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, will share insights into current scientific findings and technological developments that are driving the circular economy.
  • Joe Murphy, Executive Lead of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, will talk about how companies around the world are successfully implementing circular models.
  • Laurent Auguste, CEO Grüner Punkt, will touch upon current developments in packaging recycling.
  • Sean Jones, Chief Sustainability Officer at Microsoft Germany, will focus on circular solutions in the context of digitalisation and cloud applications.
  • Katja Busch, CCO of DHL Group, will highlight the topic of clean and green supply chains for circular logistics.
  • Liam Condon, CEO of Johnson Matthey, will provide know-how on developing circular business strategies based on renewable energy.

Additional speakers such as Christine Lemaitre, CEO of the German Sustainable Building Council, Christian Eigen, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Lenovo/Medion, Rebecca Tauer, Programme Lead for the Circular Economy at WWF Germany, Dr. Daniel Schwaab, SVP Corporate Strategy & Foresight at TOMRA Systems, Thomas Nyhsen, Member of the Board of STRABAG AG, Dr. Armgard Wippler, Deputy Director General in the SME Policy Department within the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Dr. Jan Sültemeyer, Head of Global Sustainability at Avient Cooperation, Markus Seidel, Head of Research Circular Economy, BMW Group, Lars Redeligx, CEO of Düsseldorf Airport, Markus Bangen, CEO of the Duisburger Hafen AG (duisport), Albrecht Haase, CEO of GEFA Bank and numerous other top speakers from well-known global companies and start-ups will also present their visions and strategies for a sustainable future.
