Simultaneous Beveling and Boring
A new I.D. boring module for their Cohog clamshell split frame machine that bolts directly onto the rotating ring to permit beveling and boring simultaneously has been introduced by Esco Tool of Holliston, MA. The machine can now be equipped with a new I.D. boring module that mounts onto the rotating ring to bevel and bore pipe from 4″ O.D. up with virtually any angle of bevel and bore depths to 1.5″.
Utilizing double-edge carbide inserts, this machine has a robust stationary ring machined from 7075 aluminum alloy that is hard coated and supports a custom steel forged, heat-treated and nickel-plated rotating ring. It is easy to setup and squares itself to the pipe with clamps that each accommodate four different pipe sizes using one set of pads. Ideal for use onsite or in the shop, it is offered with pneumatic, electric and hydraulic motors and the I.D boring module has a manually-operated feed that allows for precise control of the depth of cut.
