Impact Innovations – a provider of high pressure cold spray – was selected by the US department of defense to supply a high-pressure cold spray system to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, USA. The EvoCSII high pressure cold spray system will be delivered as part of a turnkey installation expected to be commissioned in 2027.
The Impact EvoCSII system was chosen as it is the only cold spray machine in the market capable of producing alloyed aluminum coatings without the need to introduce a second phase into the coating. The acquisition of an Impact EvoCSII system will allow the government to industrialise the cold spray process for repairs that involve hundreds of parts per year.
