International Welding Competition Kicked Off

The much-anticipated International Welding Competition kicked off yesterday morning with great energy and enthusiasm. Jury Chair Ronald Pajuelo, Head of Competence Center at Liebherr Hamburg and co-organizer Martin Lehmann, Manager of DVS Training and Certification, extended a warm welcome to more than 50 participants from 13 countries (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, China, Greece, India, Italy, Romania, Switzerland, Serbia, Spain, Czech Republic, Ukraine and host country Germany).

After starting with a warm-up session, the single competitions began in GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), Gas Welding, Virtual Welding, MMAW (Manual Metal Arc Welding) and TIG Welding. Each welder demonstrated impressive skill and precision as the first test pieces were completed under the careful evaluation of the international jury.

Before the close of the first day, teams prepared the vessels for todays team competition, which will take place from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m at the Galeria. This stage of the competition promises to highlight teamwork, technique and innovation at the highest level.

Throughout the event, the jury – made up of one representative from each participating country – will continue to assess the test pieces to ensure fairness and quality. The competition will culminate in the Award Ceremony, held at the DVS Booth Stage in Hall 3, where the best welders and teams will be honoured for their achievements.
