On the Road to Net Zero

KUKA is expanding its global environmental goals

As a technology group with a focus on robotics and automation, Kuka Group is working with its customers to shape production processes that conserve resources – and is working on its own transformation into a climate-neutral company. The main goal is to reduce emissions from its own business activities (Scopes 1 and 2) by at least 40 % by 2030 compared to 2022 and to become completely climate-neutral by 2050. Furthermore, Kuka will reduce emissions along the entire value chain (Scope 3) by 20 % by 2030 and by 90 % by 2050.

"As a global technology company, we have a corporate and social responsibility because we are helping to shape the future of our working world. That is why we are working on resource-saving products and solutions for our customers, but also on improvements in our day-to-day business. We have set ourselves clear targets, across the entire value chain", says Peter Mohnen, CEO Kuka Group.

To achieve these goals, the company will significantly improve the energy efficiency of its own sites by 2030 through targeted measures and generate more electricity from renewable sources itself. In addition, the car fleet will be electrified. Kuka was nominated for the 2024 German Sustainability Award for its exemplary ecological and social achievements. The company also received the ESG Transparency Award in the “Excellence” class for its integration of future-oriented sustainability practices and transparent communication.
