Welding Processes for Aluminium Welding

As a material, aluminum is a bit of a diva. Its low density and high strength make aluminium a popular and valued building material wherever weight reduction and safety are key considerations. However, its physical properties make aluminium quite difficult to process.

Due to its versatility and durability, aluminium is used in windows and doors as well as in roof and wall systems, railings, supporting structures and photovoltaic systems. Aluminium is also interesting for the construction of solar and wind energy plants and in heat exchangers. Growing sectors include the traffic and transportation industries. The bottom line is that demand for aluminium will continue to rise in the future.

Read the blog article “Welding procedures in aluminum processing” by Abicor Binzel Managing Director Prof. Dr. Emil Schubert to find out about the potential of aluminium as a building material, which thermal welding processes are suitable for aluminium welding, and what needs to be taken into account. You will also find a brief introduction to the physical properties of aluminium, the correct material preparation and how you can ensure greater process reliability when welding aluminium.
