Key Appointment Marks Next Phase of International Growth

Schoeller Werk has appointed a new head of sales: Jens Magenheimer has served as Chief Sales Officer (CSO) since June 1, 2026, joining CEO Alexander Mertens and CTO Michael Gottschalk as a member of the executive management team. Roland Mertens steps down from the CSO role to take on a senior operational position within the sales organisation.

Schoeller is in a phase of targeted international expansion. The company is systematically entering new markets, building sales partnerships in strategic growth regions, and reinforcing its position as a partner offering innovative stainless steel tube solutions for demanding requirements worldwide. The appointment to the CSO role is a deliberate step to drive this development with the necessary leadership strength. Jens Magenheimer brings an broad international profile to the table. The qualified engineer, MBA and PhD holder has leadership experience at executive and board level across technology-intensive industries – including steel, non-ferrous metals, solar and glass technology. Postings in Japan, India, China and the United States, where he built local sales and business structures from the ground up, underpin his strong intercultural competence. Most recently, he served as VP Sales and Business Development in the Machine Vision division at Isra Vision, part of the Atlas Copco Group. His doctorate in Business Management, with a focus on strategic outsourcing and core competencies, complements his track record as an entrepreneurial leader.

In his new role, Magenheimer strengthens Schoeller's presence in Europe, drives a more proactive approach to market development and leads the international expansion with a clear focus on North America and Asia. A further priority is communicating Schoeller's product and manufacturing competence, as well as the CO₂ certification of its products – an increasingly decisive factor in addressing customers in global markets. "We are reshaping our sales approach: international, customer-centric and with a clear focus on sustainable growth – where our technologies deliver real value," says Jens Magenheimer. "I see my role as actively unlocking new potential and driving growth together with the team – with purpose and momentum."
"With Dr. Magenheimer, we are gaining a leader who combines international market experience with strategic clarity," says Rolf Lynen, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Schoeller Group. "He brings exactly the profile we need for the next phase of our international development." With this appointment, Schoeller continues its course of international market development and puts in place the organisational foundations to address global demand for premium stainless steel tubes.
