New Fume Extraction System from Abicor Binzel

Sponsored

The new xFUME Commander welding fume extraction unit from Abicor Binzel brings great flexibility to extraction technology. Together with a fume extraction torch from the xFUME series, this extraction system offers protection from hazardous welding fumes not only at manual welding workstations, but also at stations with welding cobots or robotic welding systems. It is suitable for up to two extraction torches.

The xFUME Commlander adapts to diverse production requirements: As a mobile extraction unit – two large wheels ensure easy transport from one work area to another. This version of the xFUME  Commander features a dust box. The motor is available in 1.1 kW single-phase or 2.5 kW three-phase versions, providing ample flexibility for various applications and supporting up to two parallel manual welding workstations. Furthermore, the brushless motor minimizes maintenance. An integrated silencer reduces the noise level.

For highest quality and safety standards during welding

The centerpiece of the xFUME Commander is its filter system, consisting of a main filter and an optional HEPA filter. It meets the requirements of the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (IFA) and has been verified on an emissions test bench at the Abicor Binzel testing laboratory. This test bench was developed in cooperation with the Technical University of Dresden, Germany. The large main filter is marked W3, meaning that the air can be directly recirculated back into the work area. Filter replacement is quick and easy, requiring no tools.

When welding metal compounds that release particles smaller than 0.4 µm, the xFUME Commander can be equipped with a HEPA filter. This is a special, highly efficient particle filter that removes even the smallest particles between 0.1 and 0.3 µm from the intake air with a separation efficiency of at least 99.95 %. Equipped with this filter, the extraction unit even exceeds the requirements of a W3 filter.

Any extraction torch from the Abicor Binzel xFUME line can be connected to the xFUME Commander. Measuring just 52 cm × 46 cm including its wheel system, this extraction unit requires minimal space in production. Soon, with the option of a larger dust collection container, it will be possible to retrofit the xFUME Commander for cobot welding applications and robotic systems.
