Fronius Set to Unveil Groundbreaking Innovations

SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN, September 15 to 19, 2025, Messe Essen exhibition center, Hall 3, Stand 3B55

Once again this year, the stars of the show at our spacious exhibition stand are going to be our widely diverse high-end welding solutions. The absolute highlights among these will be the global premiere of our manual next-level MIG/MAG welding system, as well as revolutionary support for manual welders,” enthuses Harald Scherleitner, CSO at Fronius International, as he looks forward to the international industry event in Essen. “And we’ve also got a solution for every welding challenge—from efficient robot and cobot applications to customized automation systems. What’s more, we’re celebrating 20 years of unique precision with CMT!

In keeping with the motto of this year’s trade fair “Join the future”, Fronius will be focusing on the major drivers in welding technology. Quality requirements are rising across all industries, but the necessary welding specialists are few and far between. Fronius is therefore combining the advantages of digitalization with ease of use, so that every welder can consistently achieve the best welding results. And when it comes to the best, this also means health and safety — which is why a variety of protective products including fume extraction systems and fume extraction torches, innovative helmets, and ergonomic torch solutions will be seen live in action at the trade fair.

Welding with economy and ecology in mind

Resource efficiency is also highly important from an economic and sustainability perspective, especially when it comes to filler metals, gas, and energy. This means it is essential to avoid production errors and time-consuming rework. The experts at Fronius will be happy to explain how computer-guided step-by-step instructions, easy access to digitalization in general, and digital welding monitoring including data analysis can prove particularly useful in saving time, money, and materials.

Automation systems and cobots made to measure

Mechanized and automated welding solutions from Fronius resolve a range of individual challenges, from batch sizes of just one unit to full series production. A large robot cell and several smaller welding cells will serve to highlight the wide variety of products on display at the exhibition stand. Collaborating systems, smart sensor technology, offline programming (including welding simulation), and much more besides allow metalworking companies to tap into cost-effective opportunities, with solutions catering not just to major corporations, but to small and medium-sized enterprises too. Interested trade fair visitors will have a chance to witness mechanized welding with the iWave and Dynamic Wire in action, alongside the precision WireSense 2.0 technology, the Pathfinder, and the seamless interaction between welding machine, robot, and digital solutions.

20 years of CMT and its unrivaled precision

The ultra-precise, comparatively cool, and almost entirely spatter-free MIG/MAG welding process from technology leader Fronius is celebrating a big birthday. The process delivers high welding speed and top-quality results for joints made from standard materials and special materials with material thicknesses from just 0.3 mm. CMT (which stands for Cold Metal Transfer) has been opening up almost unlimited possibilities for two decades now. “In the early days, CMT was highly popular among car manufacturers,” says Scherleitner. “However, the popularity of the process quickly spread to many other industries and it is now used around the world in an enormous variety of applications, thanks to its stability.” CMT also skillfully showcases its advantages in additive manufacturing, which is why Fronius will be presenting application areas for the new 3D-optimized CMT Additive Pro characteristic for the iWave to the trade fair visitors.

Experiencing welding first-hand

Watching how specialists weld is fascinating, but having a go with the welding torch yourself and trying out the Fronius solutions is even better! That’s why the Fronius stand is not only going to be offering virtual welding with the Welducation Simulator; visitors will also have the chance to try out the new MIG/MAG trade fair highlights and discover a whole new level of welding quality for themselves.

Experts taking to the Fronius stage

Fronius will be drawing on 75 years of welding experience at the Fronius trade fair stand and bringing speakers on stage to discuss the latest hot topics. “One thing that’s particularly close to our hearts is reducing the carbon footprint produced during welding, while we also focus heavily on various ways in which our customers can use gas, electricity, and filler metal efficiently and economically,” explains Jürgen Bruckner, Segment Development at Fronius International. “We’ve carried out a life cycle analysis (LCA) and gained fundamental insights, which we’re keen to share with our customers, so that we can work with them to minimize the carbon footprint that comes from their production or their manufactured components.”

The Fronius team are looking forward to demonstrating these innovations at the SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN trade show in Essen, Stand 3B55, or at FABTECH in Chicago, Stand B29001.
