Zeller+Gmelin officially opened its new production site in Huzhou, China, on May 8, 2025. Numerous customers, partners, employees and representatives of the city government attended the opening ceremony. The new site in the economically booming Nan Taihu New District (Zhejiang Province) marks an important milestone in the company's China strategy. The modern facility in Huzhou is designed to produce high-quality lubricants for the Chinese market. The focus is on applications in the automotive, wire drawing, textile and metal processing industries.
Production in Huzhou, sales in Suzhou
The new production site complements the already established sales and customer service center in Suzhou. While consulting, service and order coordination will continue to take place there, Huzhou will focus on manufacturing in the future. This division of responsibilities strengthens the Group's service portfolio and improves supply security for customers in China.
Festive opening
Traditional lion dances, the symbolic ribbon-cutting and speeches by company and government representatives gave the event a celebratory yet dignified setting. Siegfried Müller, Managing Director of Sales at Zeller+Gmelin GmbH & Co. KG, em-phasised the strategic importance of the location for the company's international ori-entation in his speech. Zeller+Gmelin General Manager Marc-Tran Heller, speaking in Chinese, acknowledged the close cooperation with local partners and authorities and particularly emphasised the performance of the dedicated local team.
Strategic milestone for the Asian business
With the new location in Huzhou, Zeller+Gmelin is strengthening its presence in Asia and thus setting a clear example for further growth, according to the headquarters in Eislingen, Swabia. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art production technology and is operated by a locally based team. Huzhou is expected to develop into a central hub within the company's Asia strategy in the future. The successful implementation of the project is the result of close, cross-location collaboration between the teams in Germany, Suzhou and Huzhou.
