At this year’s SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN in Essen, the Finnish company Pemamek put the future of welding technology in the spotlight. In a live demonstration, the team presented a new flexible manufacturing system, specifically designed for companies with high product variety and low production volumes.
“Currently, there is a global shortage of qualified welders. That is why companies are increasingly turning to automated solutions. For this reason, we developed our FMS solution, which ensures efficiency,” explained Miika Kartano at the exhibition booth.

The system is designed as an all-in-one solution: it automates the entire material flow as well as the welding processes, independently transports workpieces between welding cells and buffer zones and thereby minimizes manual intervention. At its core is the control software Pema LineControl, which not only provides a live view of the production process but also supports rapid product changeovers and order-based manufacturing through a central interface.
Another advantage is integration. In most cases, the system can be incorporated into existing production lines. The company provides a customized layout as a turnkey solution. The target audience is growth-oriented manufacturers seeking greater efficiency and flexibility.
