IIoT-Enabled Thermal Spray Platform Launched

Oerlikon Metco announced the global launch of Surface Two, the next evolution in its Surface platform series. Compared to the predecessor model Surface One, introduced in 2018, Surface Two delivers the same thermal spray performance, now scaled for larger parts and broader industrial applications.
Engineered for industries such as aerospace, power generation, automotive, medical and semiconduc-tors, Surface Two extends the benefits of modularity, smart manufacturing and process consistency to customers processing medium-to-large components.

Features of Surface Two include:
  • Larger capacity: Supports parts up to Ø2000 mm and 1500 mm in height, with handling options up to 5000 kg.
  • Smart platform: Equipped with the MultiCoat 5 controller and embedded IIoT capabilities for data-driven operations.
  • Rapid deployment: Fast commissioning, minimizing installation time and shop floor disruption.
  • Flexible automation: Available in both standard and K2 configurations to support semi- or fully automated production environments.
  • Next-Gen usability: Featuring Clarity2 user interface, clean-room-ready airflow design, and minimal maintenance downtime.

Surface Two retains the relocatable, skid-based architecture of Surface One, along with standardized components and advanced airflow design – delivering a cleaner, safer and more efficient operating environment.
