Empa researchers have developed an epoxy resin that can be repaired and recycled, in addition to being flame-retardant and mechanically strong. Potential applications range from coating for wooden flooring to composites in aerospace and railways.

September 11 - 14 DVS CONGRESS 2023

With the world’s leading trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN, the DVS CONGRESS will also return to Essen in 2023. Once again, there are many reasons to attend: the Annual Welding Conference (GST), the DVS CAMPUS and the conference of underwater technology.

The need for modern dismantling technologies for underwater use is growing. The Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology IWS in Dresden has now found a technological approach to use lasers as particularly efficient, environmentally friendly, and energy-saving cutting tools in water.
