ITSC Partnership Expands: Messe Essen Strengthens Organizing Team for 2027

The partnership behind the ITSC Exposition is set to welcome a new partner: Messe Essen will join forces with DVS Media to organise the exhibition for the world’s leading event in thermal spray technology in 2027. The DVS – Deutscher Verband für Schweißen und verwandte Verfahren e. V. and the Thermal Spray Society of the American Society of Materials (TSS ASM) will continue to act as hosts and retain technical responsibility.

ITSC 2027 will take place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from May 12 to 14, 2027, marking the event’s return to Europe as scheduled. With the involvement of Messe Essen, the partners are building on their more than 50-year collaboration within the framework of the world’s leading trade fair, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN. Together with DVS Media, a wholly owned subsidiary of DVS, the European edition of ITSC is being further developed.

For over two decades, ITSC has been regarded as the premier gathering place for the international thermal spray community. It brings together experts and emerging professionals from industry, research, and development, and focuses on the latest applications and trends in surface engineering. The 2027 edition is themed “NEXT-LEVEL THERMAL SPRAY: Driving Innovation, Enabling Sustainability.”

“The ITSC stands for high scientific quality while also providing a welcoming environment for those new to the world of surface processes. Together with our American partner, DVS has successfully shaped the conference’s content for many years – ensuring a program that is both technically compelling and provides valuable guidance,” says Dr.-Ing. Roland Boecking, General Manager of DVS.

Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen, adds: “We are pleased to be organizing this established forum in partnership with DVS Media, to contribute our expertise in key technologies, and to bring industry professionals together in Rotterdam.”

“Each year, the ITSC – a long-standing event – brings together the leading experts in thermal spray science, technology, and applications. For the 2027 European edition in Rotterdam, we once again have an experienced partner at our side in Messe Essen,” adds Dirk Sieben, Managing Director of DVS Media.

The ITSC is held annually at different international locations and takes place in Europe every three years. At this year’s event in Bangkok, Messe Essen was already represented as a partner for the rebooking of ITSC 2027.
