Thomas Böllinghaus from the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is the new President of the International Institute of Welding (IIW), the world's leading association in the field of welding technology. His election was confirmed at the 76th annual meeting of the IIW in Singapore. He was previously Vice-President and Treasurer of the IIW.
