Technologies for Arc Welding

“Exhibitors announce”: The company mentioned in this article is an exhibitor at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025.

You will find the company at the fair in Hall 3, Stand 3C53.
SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025 [EN]

Under the motto Powerful Connections for Strong Performances, Carl Cloos Schweisstechnik will present technologies for arc welding at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025. The focus will be on the world premiere of the new MIG/MAG welding process Tandem+, innovative robot systems, digital solutions and the complete portfolio of Qineo welding machines.

Tandem+: 3-wire process for maximum performance

“30 years ago, we invented tandem welding. With Tandem+, a new chapter in MIG/MAG welding technology is now beginning,” explains Stephan Pittner, CEO of the CLOOS Group. “We are combining maximum deposition rate with maximum efficiency and thus creating new standards for our customers worldwide.” During live demonstration in a fully automated robot cell, visitors will be able to experience first-hand how the innovative 3-wire process works in practice. Tandem+ raises the deposition rate with a reduced number of welding layers and shorter welding times.

Automated welding: flexible, scalable, powerful

Cloos will also be exhibiting a compact standard robot system that demonstrates various welding processes and components in a modular design. This cell illustrates how their technology can be flexibly scaled and integrated into a range of production environments from single part to series production. The ArcBoT cobot solution, which is ideal for small quantities, varying component geometries and flexible production environments, will alos be showcased. Among other things, the MoTion Weld welding process is used: an energy-reduced, low-spatter short arc with reversing wire, specially developed for the thin sheet metal sector.

Qineo welding machines: technology for every application

With the Qineo series, Cloos offers a powerful platform for all modern welding processes – from entry-level solutions to high-end power sources. Qineo StarT is the robust entry-level model for manual MIG/MAG welding. Qineo NexT is the welding power source that covers a wide range of welding processes and is suitable for both manual and automated welding. Thanks to high-quality inverter technology, the NexT offers excellent arc characteristics, process reliability and a long service life. Qineo QuesT is a solution for demanding TIG welding. It offers precision, reliable ignition characteristics and sensitive control behaviour.

All Qineo machines have a strictly modular design and can be flexibly adapted to new requirements – whether by retrofitting, replacing components or integrating them into digital production environments. OPC UA interfaces for Industry 4.0 applications are available as an option.

Torch-integrated fume extraction

The torch-integrated fume extraction system will also be presented at the trade fair. Here, extraction takes place directly at the welding torch and reduces the fume load directly at the point of origin. The technology is available for both manual and automated applications and can be flexibly integrated into existing systems. This solution is now also available for tandem applications.

Digital solutions: C-Gate and Qnect

With C-Gate, Cloos presents a powerful IoT system that records, analyses and visualises all relevant data from welding production in real time. This allows processes to be monitored, optimised and documented transparently. C-Gate supports users in sustainably increasing quality, productivity and availability of their welding systems. Cloos welding machines and systems can be seamlessly integrated into existing IT and production environments via Qnect – including standardised interfaces, role-based management and modular expandability.

gym80: welding technology meets fitness industry

The cooperation with the fitness equipment manufacturer gym80, which has relied on CLOOS welding technology for decades, offers a special trade fair experience. The exhibited equipment is welded with Cloos robots and can be tried out at the trade fair – a practical example of quality, precision and efficiency in industrial production.
